The Detroit Pistons went out and got two very good free agents in Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva. These two players were expected to help the pistons get back to form and become the dominating team they have been for the last ten years. Instead the free agents who have helped them more is former Detroit Piston Ben Wallace and surprisingly Chucky Atkins has done a very good job when playing. Another Unexpected playing who has done very well is rookie Jonas Jerebko. He is a rookie from Europe and he has had to log a lot of minutes and has been very good. Two more players have been disappointing with Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva are Rip Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince. They have both been injured for a lot of the year but even when they are playing they are not doing good. Neither is living up to the expectations they have created for themselves the past few years. Having four players who were expected to do very well do poor does not help a team be good. With these disappointments the Detroit Pistons have a 20-35 record and are far from a playoff team. In most games the Pistons do not compete and they lose to many teams they shouldn’t lose to. The Detroit Pistons have many problems that one offseason could solve if the players start to play they can. If the four disappointing players live up to the expectations they will be a very good team next year. After they add the inevitable lottery pick player in the offseason they could turn into a good team again. These are two important things in the Pistons turn around. It is all up to their veterans to get back to the way they can play. They have no chance to make the playoffs this year but next year is another story.

Detroit Lions First Round Pick
picture provided by espn.com
The NFL draft is coming up and the Detroit Lions need to do well in it. In the past the Lions have drafted an abundance of offensive players. Some say that they needed to go defense with some of those offense picks. To be a little more specific the lions have drafted a lot of WR’s. Last year the lions drafted a QB and a TE in the first round. The team has its number one WR along with QB and TE. It can also be said that the Detroit Lions have their starting running back also. They can also probably say for now they have their starting right tackle since he was just drafted two years ago. Other than that on offence the lions could pick anyone. The real question is will any of those players be worthy of a first round draft pick. Odds are no offensive lineman are worthy of a first round draft pick. That is why the Detroit Lions will more than likely go defense in the draft.
The Detroit Lions on defense are a very bad team. With who they have as of now the Detroit Lions could use two defensive ends and a middle line backer. They could also use two new starting corner backs on their team. To go along with those needs they could use another safety. It is clear with all those needs on the team that the Lions defense was not up to par. They were one of the worst defenses in the league yet again. Their newly acquired coach Jim Schwartz was supposed to improve the defense last year but that really didn’t occur. One reason for that might be because he needs to get his own players that fit his style on the team. This is where the draft comes into play and the Lions need to get his players.
The main players the Lions are expected to get are on the defensive side of the ball. They are expected to get either defensive tackle Ndamuknong Suh from Nebraska. Another defensive tackle they are predicted to possibly get is Gerald McCoy from Oklahoma. They are clearly at need in their opinion at defensive tackle. The Lions have also been in talks in getting defensive safety out of Tennessee Eric Berry. The Lions are probably going to get a defensive player with their first pick. A change in their draft strategy that is very much needed.

College Basketball Player Dies
A North Carolina Community basketball player had a game this last Saturday. He thought it was just like any other game and didn’t think anything special was going to happen. That is not the way it turned out for him though. This was Vance Granville last game he will ever play. The sophomore guard collapsed on the court and never got up. He died instantly on the court in front of all the fans that attended. This is something that happens on a rare occasion to athletes but when it does it is very unexpected and sad. It makes some people wonder if playing sports is really worth. These people do not realize that it is not something that happens all the time. It is just something we hear about every time it does happen. The chances of it happening are not very likely but player instantly worry about it when this happens. This is not something people should worry about even though it is a possibility. It is almost as if we would worry about getting in a car crash every time we drive. It is a possibility but more than likely it will not happen.

LT Done With The Chargers
picture provided by espn.com
The San Diego Chargers drafted LaDainian Tomlinson in the first round of the 2001 NFL draft. He is a 5 foot 10 inch running back that weighs 221 pounds. He came out of Texas Christian after having a very good college career. In LT’s first 8 years he had over 1,000 yards in every single year. He has also had double digit rushing touchdowns in the 9 years he has played. He earned the single season rushing touchdown record for the chargers in 2006 with 28 touchdowns. The chargers should be very grateful for the years he spent with them. He was one of the best running backs during his time and will probably be considered for the hall of fame when it is all said any done. LT does not plan on retiring now that he is a free agent. He wants to find a new team.
LaDainian Tomlinson wants to continue his career in the NFL with a new team. He believes he still has plenty left in his career to be a very good running back. He just needs the chance and to be given the carries required to be considered a starting running back. If he can get his 300 plus carries he truly believes that he will be able to be the running back he has always been. Now LT just has to find that team that will give him the chance to start. There might not be very many teams out there that will be looking for a starting running back but he is determined to find a spot. LT wants to play for a contender and he wants to start. He is a very hard working running back and will still contribute to teams in the NFL. The only problem is finding a place to be a starter.

Tebow Changing His Style
In college Tim Tebow was considered one of the best QB’s in the game. He had the most touchdowns in college history all time for any player. He also had a Heisman trophy and two national championships in his college career. Those things alone make him one of the best QB’s to ever play the game. He was also very well rounded. Tim Tebow was able to pass very well but he was also able to run the ball to. The combination of these two things made Tebow very hard to defend. He even created the jump pass and used it to keep teams off guard. It consisted of a fake QB draw and then jumping and passing right before the line of scrimmage. This would make sure teams did not commit to the QB draw right away they always had to have that pass in their mind. Tim Tebow is not a player that comes around very often. The University of Florida was very lucky to have him playing for them for all four years of his college career. He got Florida back on the map and made them a nation championship contender every year while he was there. Time will only tell if The University Of Florida will still be a contender now that he is gone.
Now that Tim Tebow is going into the NFL he has decided to fine tune his game. Tebow is clearly a very good QB considering all that he accomplished in college. He just thinks if he becomes more fundamentally sound he will be a better pro QB. Since the end of the year Tebow has been working on shortening and quickening his release. This will allow Tebow to get rid of the ball much fast and lower the chance of getting sacked. It will also help him with his accuracy because there will not be as much movement in his arm while throwing. Tim Tebow hopes that this will make teams see that he is a very good QB. He thinks this will improve his game and make him better prepared for the NFL game. He has decided not to participate in the scouting combine and will use that time to practice his new technique. He will however show of his new throwing style in The University of Florida’s pro day. At this time Tebow hopes to have mastered his new style and be able to show the scouts how good he really is. The video below is of Tim Tebow throwing the ball his old way. The Video is provided by youtube.com. This thorwing is not good enough to make it in the pros and that is why he has worked on making it better.

Mark McGwire Uses Steroids
Mark McGwire was one of the best players in the MLB during the 1990’s. He stood 6 feet 5 inches and weighed 250 pounds. With the size and strength he had in the 1990’s he became the single season homerun record holder. In 1998 Mark McGwire hit 70 homeruns in a close chase with Sammy Sosa. They battled out for the record all the way to the end of the season until Mark McGwire pulled away. McGwire set himself into the history books during this time with his homerun hitting ability. His other statistics were not anything spectacular but his homeruns were up there with the best. Mark McGwire is known as a homerun hitter because that is what he was best at. After he retired the question began to come up did Mark McGwire take steroids. Most didn’t ask to much and just believed he didn’t. McGwire even implied that he didn’t in a court testimony and said the past is the past.
This year Mark McGwire came clean and let everyone know that he did take steroids during the 1990’s. He said it was only to recover from injury and that it did not improve his homerun hitting ability. This could be true because other than his record setting season his statistics in homeruns stayed relatively close to the same. He didn’t have an unusually large jump in homeruns anytime during his career so it is very possible the steroids didn’t help his homerun hitting. McGwire finally came out after all of these years being retired. If this was true that the steroids were not taken to help his homeruns then why did he not come out sooner. If the steroids strictly helped him recover then why would he not admit to taking steroids much sooner than now. Why did Mark McGwire wait until he starts to coach and gets back into the MLB to admit to this? He should have come out much sooner if it really didn’t help him hit homeruns. The steroids obviously helped him hit homeruns or he wouldn’t have waited until he had to come clean. Mark McGwire took steroids and it helped him hit homeruns. It is a good thing that he finally came out and admitted to his steroid usage hopefully he can get passed this and become a good MLB coach. The Video below is provided by youtube.com and is of McGwire talking about his steroid use.

USA WINS!!
Picture Provided by ESPN.com
The United States Hockey team played Canada on February 21, 2010. The United States was not expected to win this matchup. Canada is host of the Olympics so the loss to the United States is a stunning unexpected one. The Canada Hockey team had better players including the best player in the NHL Sidney Crosby. Sidney Crosby was one of the Canadians who scored, joining him were Erik Staal, and Dany Heatley. The Canadians Goalie only had 22 shots on him with 18 saves. He did not have a top of the line game and neither did the rest of the Canadian team. It could be just a bad game by the Canadians but it also could be something the United States team did. Brian Rafalski led the way for the United States team scoring two goals. Jamie Langenbrunner, Ryan Kelser and Chris Drury all added a goal to the United States winning cause. The United States Goalie Ryan Miller had 45 shots on him and stopped 42 of them. He had a very nice game and was a key contributor in the United States victory. This victory by the United States over the Canadians could be the biggest upset by the United States Hockey team since the victory over the Russians in 1980. This is a very big win for the United States and advances them into the quarterfinals. The United States now hopes it can finish the job and receive the gold medal in this year’s hockey Olympics.

Former 2nd Pick Leaving NBA
Picture Provided by ESPN.com
Darko Milicic was the 2nd overall pick in the 2003 draft. The Detroit Pistons selected him from Yugoslavia. Darko was predicted to be the next great big man. He is seven foot tall and weighs 275. Coming into the draft they said he had everything needed. The experts said he had the down low moves to dominate and the shot to go along with it. They also said he had the instincts needed and the agility to go along with all of that. The experts predicted he was a sure thing coming into the NBA but he has not lived up to all the hype around him. Many other players drafted after him have accomplished much more then he has so far. Even Though Darko is only 24 years old people are saying he will never be any good in the NBA. At the age of 24 some players are only second or third year players usually. No one says those things about players that fresh to the NBA. At 24 years old it is possible Darko will get the hang of things but it is not looking very bright for him.
Darko has gone from team to team since being drafted and he has not played much. Darko is contemplating going back to Europe were he came from and playing there. He thinks he will be much happier there and will actually play. He has recently been traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves and they have stated that he will play. They have also said they hope he decides to stay in the NBA rather than go to Europe. Darko is going to get another chance during the rest of this season to show he belongs. If teams believe he is a good NBA player he will get the chance to play somewhere and maybe not be forced to go back to Europe. This will also remove the label of being a bust if he can become a serviceable player. The Timberwolves plan on playing him so he will be able to showcase his skills and maybe even have a little fun playing the game he loves. If he plays and has fun he might decide to stay in the NBA rather than go play in Europe. At the end of the year when his contract is up we will discover his decision on the matter of staying in the NBA or going to Europe.

MSU And The Title
The Michigan State basketball team started the year off very well. They were undefeated in the big 10 and it looked as if they were well on their way to winning it. They were 9-0 in the big 10 and it didn’t look as if anyone was going to come close to doing better. It appeared as though they had the big 10 wrapped up. They had beat one of their top rivals Michigan and also top ranked Wisconsin. They also had quality out of conference game experience against teams. Michigan State had everything going for them beating almost every team in the big 10 once before things started to go bad. Coming off a huge win against their interstate rival Michigan by one point they had to play North Western. They easily beat North Western but then right after that they had to play top ranked Wisconsin.
Things did not work very well against Wisconsin for Michigan State. Michigan State lost to Wisconsin and it started a stretch that had them losing three in a row. After their loss to Wisconsin they had to play Illinois and they were outmatched and out shot in this game. That made it two big 10 losses in a row after they had won their first 9 big 10 games. Things were starting to look bad for state because now they had to play top 5 ranked Purdue. Number 5 ranked Purdue was able to beat Michigan state and that game them 3 big 10 losses in a row. They then had to play Penn State and Indiana where they earned hard fought victories. This helped give them their chance to win the big 10 still even though they were tied with a few teams now. One of the teams they were tied with was Purdue and the other one was Ohio State. Michigan State had to play Ohio State today and the outcome was not good for Michigan State. They were unable to beat the Ohio State Buckeyes. This gave Ohio State the lead over Michigan State in the big 10. Also on top of that the other team they were tied with, Purdue got a win over Illinois. This means Michigan State dropped to 3rd place in the big 10. This is a huge fall for the Spartans after it appeared they would easily win the big 10 in the beginning of the year. They still have a chance of winning the big 10 and the winner will only be known at the end of the year.

Trade not so good
Picture Provided by espn.com
The Cleveland Cavaliers were in first place in the NBA before they made a trade. They had just got comfortable playing with their newly acquired center Shaquille O’Neal from the offseason. They were playing very well and gelling nicely. Then the Cavaliers then went and made a trade for a very good power forward from the Washington Wizards. Antawn Jamison was a former all-star and was having a very nice year for the Wizards. It looked like this might make the Cavaliers unstoppable and take them right to a championship. That is not the way the trade has been so far though. The Cavaliers have not won a game since the trade has gone down. They have lost two and won zero games since acquiring Jamison from the Wizards. Jamison has not played very well himself in the first game he went 0-12 shooting. He did do better in his second game but it is clear that the Cavaliers have a lot of work to do. This trade was supposed to make them unstoppable but instead it is making things harder for them. Once they gel as a team again maybe it will all work out for the Cavaliers. They had their struggles at the beginning of the year also when they were trying to incorporate Shaquille O’Neal into their game. That could be the very thing that is going on this time also. This might just be a growing period for the Cavaliers but once they are gelled and form chemistry they might be better than ever. If the Cleveland Cavaliers can do this and create some chemistry between themselves they will be the best team in the NBA. The trade will have worked and it will insure that they will become NBA champions.

Damons a Tiger
As long as the 36 year old outfielder can pass his physical he will be a Detroit Tiger. Jonny Damon spent the last few years with the New York Yankees. Last year he won a World Series championship with the Yankees. He batted .282 and had 24 homeruns on the season for the Yankees last season. He battled through many injuries last season but managed to stay on the field for most of it. In the playoffs last year he batted .281 and had 18 hits. This not a spectacular post season but considered he was battling injuries during it that makes it an average post season. He did just enough to stay in the lineup and help the Yankees win the World Series. The reason they did not resign him is because he is getting older and they did not want to pay him as much as he wanted. The Yankees would have gladly signed him back based on production. Since his age and money demands were a problem he left and was signed by the Detroit Tigers.
The tigers will be using Damon as an outfielder, Designated Hitter, and most important of all a leadoff hitter. The tigers did not have a solid leadoff hitter going into the season before they signed Jonny Damon. They traded away their leadoff hitter they had last year. Jonny Damon will most certainly help out the most being a leadoff hitter for the Detroit Tigers. Jonny Damon is also a left-handed batter. That is important because the Detroit Tigers do not have many left handed batters on their team right now. This is a big deal because having left handed batters allows you to play to the match up of the pitcher. Some pitchers have a harder time pitching to left handed batters then they do to right handed batters and vice versa. Adding another left handed batter that can hit should help the Tigers out tremendously this season. With Jonny Damon on the Detroit Tigers they might have a chance to make some noise this season.

Tracy McGrady Back To Form
Picture provided by espn.com
Tracy Mcgrady has played in less than ten games this year. With the Houston Rockets he was getting under 8 minutes per game. He was not given the chance to shine or even play with the Rockets. They never planned on playing him more than about 8 minutes per game so Tracy Mcgrady said he would rather not play for them and just go train. So all year he has been training so when he got his chance to play he would be back to form. He figured he might has well work on his game with a trainer then play 8 minutes per game. It appears as though that way of thinking may have worked out for him. Tracy Mcgrady got traded from the Houston Rockets to the New York Knicks just this last week. Last night Mcgrady played his first game with the Knicks. He even started for them. He went from not playing to starting and played 30 plus minutes.
Tracy Mcgrady did very well in the game. He scored 26 points had 4 rebounds 5 assist and a steal. This was one of the better performances for the Knicks on the night. I consider that to be very good since he has hardly played all year. In Tracy Mcgrady first chance of the year to show what he has he did very well and did enough to help the Knicks win. The Knicks didn’t win but that was not Tracy Mcgrady fault by any means. Also Tracy Mcgrady did this against one of the best players in the league. He was matched up against Kevin Durant one of the best scorers in the game today. This was defiantly a very good start to re energize Tracy Mcgrady’s career. This could be the start to him getting back to his old all star form. Only time will tell if this trade to the Knicks saves Tracy Mcgrady’s career or not.

Tiger Woods Says Sorry
Provided by espn.com
Tiger Woods came out and said he was very sorry for the incident that has kept him out of golf. He said he cheated on his wife and has been in rehab since it originally came out on thanksgiving. He has not golfed yet this year and he does not know if he will golf again this year. He says he will golf again but he does not know when it will be. Tiger Woods is considered one of the best golfers of our time and maybe one of the best ever. This has not stopped a sports scandal from happening to him. This just shows that all athletes are just human. They are no better or no worse than anyone else. We hold them to higher standards but in reality they are just like us with more skill in their sport. Tiger Woods made a mistake in his personal life just like many other people have who are famous and not famous. He is trying to work his way through his mistake and is working with other to get help. I am sure rehab is helping him in many ways and it is changing his life for the better. Tiger Woods is just human and should not be held to any higher standards than anyone else. He is trying to right his wrongs and make up for what he did. He wants to be a better person and get back to golfing.

NBA Trades
The NBA trade deadline is today and there have been a few trades around the league and potentially for more to come. One of the major trades was a three team trade between Cleveland Cavaliers the Washington Wizards and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Cavaliers received Antawn Jamison and Sebastian Telfair. The Wizards received Zydrunas Ilgauskas a first round draft pick from the Cavaliers and Al Thornton. The Clippers get Drew Gooden from the Wizards. In my opinion the Cavaliers came out on top of this three team trade. The received an all star power forward to go along with their former all star center and all star small forward. Antawn Jamison will solidify the Cavaliers and will probably put them over the top for a championship. The next winner in this trade appears to be the wizards. They received a first round draft pick that will probably be later in the round since its from the Cavaliers. They also got a very solid big man that has an expiring contract for them to go after a player they really want with his 11 million dollar contract. In my opinion the Clippers really didn’t accomplish much with this trade. They received a player that has not done much this year. He does have plenty of potential to do well. If Drew Gooden lives up to his potential they might get the best value in this trade. Considering they really didn’t give up to much as far as talent to get him. As of now the winner of this trade is the Cavaliers but only time will tell if they really are.
Some other trades that have occurred around the league are not as high profile. There are some rumors that are predicted to happen that involve some big name players. Nate Robinson from the New York Knicks is being talked about in trades to the Boston Celtics. If Boston is able to land Robinson for what is rumored they will be back in contention for an NBA championship. Also involving the New York Knicks is a trade that would send former all star Tracy McGrady from the Houston Rockets to the Knicks. The Rockets want two picks for Mcgrady plus players and the Knicks think that is a high asking price at this time. That is the one thing that is holding up this trade from occurring. Trades can still happen and if they help or hurt the team we will not know until later in the future.

All-star game
The eastern and western conference all stars faced off Sunday night. The east pulled off a close 141-139 victory over the west. The east had many stars in the game but the leading one was Dwayne Wade. Wade had 28 points 11 assist 5 steals and 6 rebounds for the game. Wade was the MVP of the 2010 all star game. Lebron James also for the east scored 25 points had 5 rebounds 6 assist and 4 steals. Chris Bosh also scored 23 points and had 10 rebounds for the east. For the western conference team Carmelo Anthony led the way with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Also for the west home town Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki scored 22 points. These performances were all done in front of a record all star game crowd of 108,000 fans. It was also the first basketball game played in Dallas Stadium which is primarily used for football. This was an exciting all star game with many new twist involved and will surly go down in history as one of the best.

The Dunk Contest
Picture provided by espn.com
The NBA dunk contest was right after the three point contest last night. Nate Robinson and Demar Derozen faced off in the finals of the dunk contest. Shannon Brown and Gerald Wallace were also in the contest but they lost in the first round. Nate Robinson ended up winning the contest for the third time and he says he will not participate in the contest again. He is the first person to ever win the contest three years and he will not go for four. Nate Robinson only got 51% of the votes from the fans to win the contest. The dunk contest was not one of the better ones and did not have exciting dunks. The dunks were mostly simple ones that are actually performed in games sometimes. A former dunk contest winner Dwight Howard actually was laughing in the stands during the contest. He clearly did not think it lived up to what the contest should be. Next year’s dunk contest should be very much improved compared to this year.

Three point contest
Picture provided by espn.com
The NBA three point contest was last night. Paul Pierce was able to top off Stephen Curry and Chauncey Billups. In the final round Paul Pierce scored 20 points. In route to these 20 points he got al 5 money balls. This is huge because the money ball is worth two points while the rest of the balls are only worth one. Paul Pierce also participated in the three point contest back in 2002 but he did not do very good. In 2002 he lost in the first round and he was embarrassed by his performance. This time around Paul Pierce took it much more serious and practiced much harder in preparation of the event. That is why this time around he was able to win the event rather then lose in the first round. The second place man rookie Stephen Curry came out and scored 17 points. 17 points was a very good effort for a rookie in his first three point contest. Chauncey Billups was able to score 14 points in his effort to win the three point contest. Paul Pierce was much deserving of the reward but did not have much competition in this years event. When it was all said and done thought Paul Pierce was the 2010 NBA three point contest winner.

Rookie-Sophomore game
The NBA all-star weekend was started off with the rookie sophomore game. It ended in a surprising result with the rookies beating the sophomores. The sophomores have won 7 straight games including 8 of the last 10 games over all. The rookies were not excepted to come out on top against the sophomores. The rookies won 140-128 and had a big lead throughout most of the game. DeJuan Blair, a rookie, set a game record with 23 rebounds and he added 22 points to that. This was the first 20-20 game in the games history and also the most rebounds in the game. Tyreke Evens scored 26 points and was handed the game’s MVP honors. He said he wanted to share the award with Dejuan Blair though. picture provided by espn.com
The sophomores did have one bright spot in the game. Russell Westbrook scored a game high 40 points. This was only a year after his teammate Kevin Durant set the games record with 46 points. Kevin Durant was the first to top 40 points and now Russell Westbrook his teammate has done it to. It was thought that Russell Westbrook might have a chance of breaking Kevin Durant’s record but Westbrook was taken out and not given the chance to do it.

An Injury is Good?
The starting point guard for the New Orleans Hornets, Chris Paul, is injured. He tore ligaments in his knee and had to have surgery. He is considered the team’s best player and he thinks it may be a blessing that he is sitting out. According to Chris Paul sitting out is allowing his teammates to gain confidence. This is very true it allows for other players to be the main option. They are able to do their own thing and believe in their own abilities a little more. The down side to this is they lose chemistry between themselves. When Chris Paul comes back they will not have played together for a month or two. This is an issue because they will have to remember how to play with each other and integrate the play of the new confident players. If the Hornets and Chris Paul are able to gel the new and old style of play then something good could result for the Hornets. This is what Chris Paul is thinking will happen but only time will tell if that is the result of his injury.

King James
picture provided by ESPN.com
Lebron James scored 47 points on Saturday February 6th 2010. He also had eight rebounds eight assist and 5 steals in this game. This was yet another good game for him against the New York Knicks. Lebron James has dominated the Knicks in his career and this was just another dominating performance. James scored 24 straight points for the Cavaliers including setting a first half record of scoring 35 points in a half. The most amazing thing about this performance is he did not participate in pregame warm-ups or the national anthem. James showed up just before the starting line ups where announced. All he would say is he had something to take care of before the game. That was his reason for being so late to the game. It was clearly not an issue because he had one of the best performances of the season even though he missed pregame. Lebron James has dominated the Knicks at Madison square garden and looks to continue to do so throughout his career.

The Saints Win!!
In Super Bowl XLIV the heavily favored Indianapolis Colts lost to the New Orleans Saints. It was a good close game all the way through. The colts started the scoring off with a 38 yard field goal and a 19 yard touchdown pass. That made the score 10-0 at the end of the first quarter. The saints answered back though in the second with a 46 and 44 yard field goal. That made the half time score 10-6 with the Colts in the lead. To start off the third quarter the Saints kicked and onside kick and recovered. That instantly gave the saints the momentum and turned the game. On that very drive the Saints drove and scored on a 13 yard pass. The Colts then answered back with a 4 yard touchdown run by Joseph Addai. After this the score was 17-13 Colts but the Saints controlled the rest of the game with three touchdowns and a field goal. The Saints sealed the game with an interception to score a touchdown. The final score was 31-17. Picture Provided by ESPN.com
With this victory the Saints earned their first ever super bowl win. After all their years in existence they finally got out of the group of the few who have not won a Super Bowl. One ironic thing is the Saints did this against Peyton Manning. That is so ironic because Peyton Manning’s dad Archie Manning was a long time great Saint. He was one of the best Saint QB’s of all time. The Saints beat their long time great QB’s son in order to get what they have always wanted, A Super Bowl win.

NFL Pro bowl
The NFL Pro Bowl was played in Miami, Florida on January 31, 20010 for the first time since it started. It has been played in Honolulu, Hawaii since the Pro Bowl was created. Also it was played a week before the Super Bowl. This is a major change in the game because it is usually played the week after the super bowl. Now that is it played before it does not allow for the players who make the Super Bowl to play in the Pro Bowl. I think this is a bad thing because the teams that make the Super Bowl are the best teams and will probably some of the best players. That means some of the best players will not be able to play in the Pro Bowl strictly because they made the Super Bowl. That is not fair for these players to not be able to play in the Prop Bowl. There has to be a better solution to when the Pro Bowl is played then doing this.
The first ever Pro Bowl not played in Honolulu, Hawaii was an interesting high scoring game. The final score was 41-34 AFC winning. Some of the stars for the losing NFC team were Aaron Rodgers a QB who passed for 197 yards and had two touchdowns. Also for the NFC team Desean Jasckson had a good game playing WR. He had six catches for 101 yards and two touchdowns. The winning side of the game the AFC had some stars to. Matt Schaub a QB for the AFC team and was the games MVP passed for 189 yards and had two touchdowns. David Garrard also a QB for the AFC team passed for 183 yards and a touchdown. Another star of the game was Vincent Jackson a WR. He had 7 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown. There were also many other WR for the AFC team who had 70 or 80 yards. In order to really understand the performances of these players it is useful to see the highlights of the game.
